Welcome to the Alberta Gold Prospectors

The AGPA is a society. We have over 100 members with varying degrees of prospecting experience. If you have ever been interested in gold panning and you enjoy the great outdoors, you should consider joining our club.    Download the membership form now!

The goal of the club is to raise awareness of gold prospecting in Alberta. Where to find the gold, how to retrieve it and do so with a minimal environmental impact.

We have three major goals for this year. We as a club are raising funds for a Utility Trailer for all the clubs equipment. To educate people across Alberta about our club and to increase our membership base and most importantly to have fun and enjoy all this beautiful province has to offer!

Growing our member base will always be an ongoing goal as will raising awareness of gold prospecting. The club is also involved in numerous educational programs, such as teaching the Scouts at their annual Jamboree. Attending numerous Rock and Gem shows and teaching people the joys of Gold Panning.

As I mentioned before we are a society and therefore do fundraising for the club throughout the year, which includes three major events:

  • Annual Spring Breakout, a fun filled weekend of family panning and prospecting related competitions, a bbq dinner on Saturday night and prizes for all.
  • Fall Corn Roast, one final chance to camp before the freeze of winter hits. Lots of delicious taber corn and another chance to tell your tales of great gold finds!!

3.)    Gold Dust Dinner, a Christmas event where we have a wonderful meal, a silent auction with amazing prizes and a raffle where the prize is …you guessed it GOLD!!

Please browse the Web Site and let us know what you think.

If you have any questions, suggestions or would like to make a donation to the club please feel free to contact me at AGPApresident@shaw.ca
